Default Improved Collectible Drops and Collectors in Hard mode

A wonderful thing about hardmode is that areas of the game which previously held low level monsters with rare loot that was non-max, are now sources of max versions of these rarer items (sephis axes for example). But one thing that hasn't changed is the collectible drops. Charr still drop crappy char carvings for example.

My proposal is to update the collectible drops in HM and also the items one can get from collectors with these drops in areas which were previously low level. Along with this, you could add hard mode specific drops in areas later in the game which can be give to HM collectors for items with special skins of some kind perhaps, or just skins that are normally a little more rare. This would be an added bonus for working through some of the more diffucult areas of the game on HM.

Yes this is something that is needed. Salvagable items need to be improved as well so you can get an amount of mats that are reflective of the risk.

Special "hard-mode only" collector weapons (with nice skins obv.) which are automatically customised to the player (also prevent selling/trading of the collectables). That way we have a true 'prestige' item for people who have completed the game (endgames sorta do this, but you can buy them off other people so the effect is less)

/notsigned: collectors aren't the way to create prestige because they're too easy to farm. They're supposed to be the baseline basic equip, you have to hunt if you want a nice skin. (Some exclusive hard mode ones wouldn't hurt though)

I thought perhaps the low-level collectors would be upgraded to have max stats, to reflect the change in difficulty of the area.

oh definately mate, i have been doing hard mode and the drops (apart from the odd max collosal scimitar) have been really poor, and even the merchants find no value in them -.- especially collectible drops! i mean even if its something simple like noob island collector armr or weps being max or just completely new items to exchange for (a whole new DP removal perhaps?) and also, the collector drops /could/ be completely new, OR they could just be called 'elite charr carving' or 'elite ibolga petal'

with love, cleo

If you aren't interested in the Late Game HM area rare skins, then perhaps distinguish that from whether or not you are interested in bringing early game drops up to hm speed at least along with collectors. thanks for the support!

They could just be the same drops, but dyed black and tagged renamed with adjectives, like...

"Mursaat Token" -> "Fearsome Mursaat Token"
"Iridiscent Griffon Wing" -> "Iridiscent Dire Griffon Wing".

Then you make the collectors in hard mode have max stat inscribeable stuff and done.

I would also make collectors have merchant tabs, specialle in areas whit no merchants... even with an empty inentory, I get it completely filled too often.
